There are three races, Humans who tend towards magic, the Dragonblood, who are warriors
and the Shadow who are adepts at roguish arts. You can read about them in an old newsletter

We are also looking at the possibility of a 16th class, tentatively called the 'unbound'
which would have much fewer skill and race restrictions.
When will Dragon Empires be released?
Dragon Empires is currently scheduled to be released Spring 2004 with a beta test starting
August 2003.

Yes, and it will start in August2003. Sign up now to take part and you will get a regular
newsletter till the time of beta release.
Do I have to play on X server?
You will be able to play on any Dragon Empires server you want to so yes, you can join your
American or French friends on the server they're on.
What is Dragon Empires?
Dragon Empires is an online roleplaying game where players to group together into clans and
fight other clans, trade, craft items or just enjoy the world. Among other things, clans
compete for glory and for ownership of the 50 cities scattered throughout the world.
What makes Dragon Empires different from other online roleplaying games?
Dragon Empires is fast paced with players determining the feel of the world. As different
clans get control of different cities they will change the town´s economy to suit
themselves. How long they remain in charge will depend on how well they can defend their
land and how much others want to contest them for ownership rights. Some clans will be
well liked and rule for a long period, others may be greedy for wealth and notoriety,
possibly leading to short and bloody reigns.Dragon Empires also has a full and detailed
crafting system which lets you make things even when you´re offline and one of the most
beautiful worlds to ever grace a computer screen!
Who is making Dragon Empires?
The Dragon Empires development team is part of Codemasters and is based in two locations.
One group is based in California, USA and the other in Warwickshire in the UK.
Will there be any fee to play the game?
Yes, players will pay a monthly subscription to maintain their characters on our servers
and get access to the servers. Exactly how much this fee will be has yet to be determined.
Can I play using a standard modem?
Yes, you don't need broadband to play Dragon Empires; anyone with a 56k modem or better can
enjoy the game.
Will Dragon Empires be globally distributed?
We plan on operating both North American and European servers and distributing globally.
Is the game played in first or third person?
Both perspectives are supported in game (along with other camera options) and it is easy
to switch between them.
Will the game be available in different languages?
The initial release will be in English only at this time.
Can I play a female?
Yes

Will players be able to select from different faces/heights/hair colour
etc?
Yes. Players can personalize their appearance in many ways. Example options include
hairstyle, eyes, face, and body size, even eyebrow style!
How many characters can I have on a server?
You can have four characters on one server but only one of them can own a manufacturing
workshop. The restriction on workshops is because the workshops run even when the character
is off line and we don't want to swamp the world with goods!
Will there be a roleplay server?
If there is enough interest then it is a possibility. If we go ahead with an RP server it
would most likely happen after launch.
Are there quests?
Yes, the economy will offer quests for players to complete and we are likely to offer
traditional, story-style quests too.
How do you move around?
You can move either by using the mouse to click where you want to go or by using the
keyboard to 'drive' yourself around the landscape. Free-look FPS-style controls are also
available and the game controls are very customisable. The speed of your movement can be
enhanced through items or spells and also changes depending on what kind of terrain you
are on. Moving on roads is quicker than trying to run through dense woods.
