Can I make my own weapons and armor?
Yes, you can set your workshop to either produce goods to sale on the market or to hold the goods you manufacture. Set it up, go adventuring, come back and find fresh new kit waiting for you to enjoy!

Will different cities produce different trade goods?
Yes, while every city can make any trade goods, player controlled cities will have chosen a trade specialty when they first take over the town. Over time the efficiency of production in that trade will increase resulting in more goods produced for less by manufacturers in that town.
Naturally, we expect the majority of manufacturing players to move towards focusing on their town's specialty. In this way the economic structure of the world will continually evolve.

So how does the economy work?
Big question! Well, to cut a long story short it's all based on resources. Cities are centres of trade and production that buy resources from players to make items that are sold to players. The resources they buy from players will depend on the products they are producing (decided by all the player workshops and the ruling clan's strategy).
This creates a number of trade opportunities that work in a similar way to quests in other games. Resources are collected, carried to a city and sold.
The big difference is that the trade opportunities change dynamically based on the events in the world. If players stop buying a particular product then a city will stop buying the resources needed to make that product. If a city is conquered then its clan-bought production enhancements can be destroyed, changing the possible trade routes in the world. Conversely if a player decides to build a forge in a city to produce swords then a new trade route is created. If outlaw or monster activity changes in an area so that moving resources to a city becomes more difficult, then a city will have to buy the resource for a higher price.
One event in the world sends out ripples across the highly dynamic, player driven world.

How does crafting work?
Every player is able to set up an automated manufacturing base at their home. This machine is set to buy resources from a centralized automated city market at up to a certain price and then to produce goods.
The finished goods are then either sold back to the market for a minimum price or held for the player to decide what to do with them.
There are dozens of finished items to manufacture or refined goods to produce. Everything from swords and armor through to iron ingots and bolts of cloth and everything in between. Over time you can chose to focus on crafting and get access to more and more advanced and specialised goods.
The crafting system of Dragon Empires means no longer do you have to sit for hours and click the same icons over and over. Your workshop will craft while you're out hunting, chatting and even when you're offline!
